Mary Elizabeth COCHRAN 1853-1925

Mary Elizabeth was born on the 22nd of July 1853 in Campbell County, GA to George & Mariah.  She was 5 years old when the Civil War started and 9 when it ended. Here is a map of the county during the war:

Ten years after the war, 19 year old Mary Elizabeth married William Claborne HOPKINS on the 21st of March, 1876 in Campbell County.

She bore the following eight children:

8. Della Camilla 1896

Mary Elizabeth died on March 28th, 1925 in Union City, Fulton County, GA.  She is buried at Ramah Baptist Church Cemetery.
